Vishuddha Yoga Centre

A new yoga studio is in central Oxford beside the Thames. The interior accommodates all the spaces required for a yoga community; upstairs a lofty, light, dedicated studio space, downstairs all the ancillary use plus a large social space opening onto the rear courtyard, with robust floor and wall finishes to resist damage from flood water.

 

A Flood Risk Assessment was prepared for the proposed building not to impact the Thames flood storage allowing flood water to flow below and through the structure via valves to the rear courtyard and empty after a severe flood event.
